Easter Seals Drop Zone 2014
I recently had the opportunity to work with Easter Seals Alberta to provide coverage of the 2014 Drop Zone. Drop Zone is a fundraising event where participants rappel from the top of the Sun Life Plaza building. And the rappel is a long one at just over 300 feet!
Before the day of "the drop" participants do an evening of training with the crew from The Crux Climbing Centre. The Crux is a really unique climbing gym, and a perfect training location for the Drop Zone, because you can walk up the stairs all the way to the top of the wall. Take a look at a few of the images from the training session I attended.
The day of "The Drop" started at about 5:30AM for me, but I really do enjoy being up early in Calgary. It meant that I got on the roof early and managed to get a few great shots of the Bow Tower at sunrise.

The list of participants included local TV and radio hosts, business owners and extraordinary Calgary citizens that wanted to give back in a fun, exciting way. Check out a few photos of the participants below.
